Blackfish - Use cabbage weed along the sand flats.
Bream & Yellowtail - Use squid, prawns, worms. Fish off the edge of the sand flats on an incoming tide.
Flathead - Fish on the drift, along the sand flats. Use pilchards, white bait, squid on an incoming tide.
Garfish - Use a long shanked hook with prawns over the weed in the sand flats.
Hairtail - Usually caught during winter in deep water near the shore. use a 3 gang rig with a 8" - 10" wire trace on a 20lb line. Use whole pilchards, whole yellowtail, whole mullet.
Jewfish - Use squid, yellowtail or prawns on the half tide with a 4/0 hook, about four boat lengths from the shore.
Leather Jackets - Use prawns. Have a heavy sinker on the end, two hooks up the line. Drop the line straight to the bottom and pull up immediately. Close to shore.
Snapper - Use squid, cut pilchard, or yellowtail in deep water along the shore.
Trawling with lures - To catch tailor, benito and kingfish. Have light wire trace to the swivel, then a no2 bean sinker on a 20lb line.
Whiting - Anchor over the sand flats at high tide. Use worms, or peeled prawns.
